The Office of the Town Clerk conducts Town Elections on a non-partisan basis. Elections are conducted at large. There are no voting districts in Gila Bend.
The Town Clerk’s Office calls for the elections, prepares the ballot language, calls for arguments “for” and “against” the propositions, and prepares the publicity pamphlets. Gila Bend’s Town Clerk contracts with the Maricopa County Elections Department to provide support for polling places at Town Hall.
Maricopa County supports Gila Bend’s Town Elections by allowing the use of County voting equipment and by counting the ballots for the Town. Often it takes several days after an election for the County to determine the final count, primarily due to the verification of mail-in ballots.
