May 15, 2019, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Gila Bend Resource Center
The National Weather Service has scheduled a beginner/standard training class here in Gila Bend for people who are interested in becoming Storm Spotters. Immediately following the presentation, completion certificates will be issued and
program participation will be confirmed. When significant, or severe weather occurs anywhere within the National Weather Service's Phoenix Warning Area, the Weather Service turns to the Storm Spotter Network to obtain timely and accurate reports. This network is comprised of individuals or groups, generally associated with the following: 1) Emergency Service Organizations (Fire, Police, etc), 2) Volunteer Organizations (HAM Radio, Citizens' Band Radio, etc), 3) Individual Citizens, and 4) Cooperative Observers.
