NOTICE of CITIZEN REVIEW SESSION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT as stated above a Citizen Review Session will be held at the above referenced time, place, and location. The purpose of the Citizen Review Session is to inform residents of the proposed Southwest Bend Solar Field Overlay Zone (SFOZ) entitlement process and to receive public comments on the following application (ZON-25-001): .

Location of the property: The Southwest Bend application for SFOZ is located west of SR 85, north of Fornes Road, and along both sides of Old US Highway 80. The Paloma Irrigation District Gila Bend Canal bisects the site. The site is privately owned land.

Scope: The Solar Field Overlay Zone will not modify the underlying Zoning District classifications. The future project consists of construction of an industrial-scale solar energy generation and battery energy storage system.

The Southwest Bend Solar project area is approximately 1,721 acres, with 1,381 acres within the Town of Gila Bend. A total of 828 acres of land need to be rezoned to Solar Field Overlay Zone (SFOZ) since the remainder already has SFOZ on it.

Construct an industrial-scale Solar Energy Generation development, including substation, switchyard, BESS, O&M building as described below:

• Solar field of PV modules mounted on a single-axis tracking system.

• Electrical collection systems, including switchgear, power conversion stations. inverters, transformers, and collection lines.

• A project substation and battery energy storage components.

• A 500 kV gen-tie transmission line.

• Associated infrastructure including site perimeter fencing and internal access roads.

• Driveways / gates.

• Meteorological stations.

• Operations and maintenance building and associated equipment storage facilities.

• Possible water storage tanks.

Current Zoning: The property is currently zoned Planned Community (PC) and Rural Agriculture (AG).

Anyone wishing to appear and make comments is encouraged to attend. A hard copy of ZON-25-001 may be reviewed at the Town Hall located at 644 W Pima Street.
