Patriot Day (9-11) Memorial
Sunday, September 11, 2022
Each year, the Town of Gila Bend and our local first responders hold a beautiful service at the Town's own 9-11 Memorial Park to remember the events and the people lost during the tragedies of September 11th, 2001. This year marks the 20th anniversary of those events. The memorial service changes slightly each year, but usually includes a first responder procession, an invocation, raising of the colors, a reading of the names of the first responders at ground zero, a Fireman's Prayer reading, and the song God Bless America. Limited seating available. Please contact Pat Riggs if special accommodations need to be made for you to attend the service.
Pastor David Sonnenberg will do the invocation, the Gila Bend Volunteer Fire Department and EMS will be raising the colors. We will also be joined by the Department of Public Safety, United States Border Patrol, Maricopa County Sherriff's Office, Tohono O'odham Police, and the United States Airforce Auxiliary Base Fire Department.
