Responsibilities
The Finance Department is responsible for overseeing and commanding strong fiscal stewardship of the public’s money. Some of the department's services include, but are not limited to:
- Accounting and financial reporting
- Conformance to legal requirements and to generally accepted financial management principles
- Debt management and capital financing
- Procurement of materials and services
- Risk and inventory management
- Treasury services
- Utility billing (Water only)
- Works closely with the town’s contracted Financial Advisor as a continuous improvement initiative
