Mission
Our mission is to improve lives and strengthen our community, ultimately helping individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency and become self-supporting.
The Gila Bend Community Action Program (CAP) assists the citizens of Gila Bend to help them live their lives better; one child, one senior citizen, one person at a time. Our program services are designed to help low-income people triumph over poverty, achieve self-sufficiency, and shape strong futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Services Provided
An holistic approach is taken as we focus on case management. We utilize a wide variety of tools to help our clients achieve their goals from direct emergency financial assistance to, for example, weatherizing their home. Short-term emergency services such as emergency food boxes and referrals to food stamps and unemployment benefits are provided along with long-term solutions such as referrals to job training and employment or disability referrals for those that are unable to work.
Transportation assistance is provided to link our clients with employment, health care, and other social service needs.
