Our Council meetings, are held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, at Town Hall, beginning at 6:00 pm. We operate on a philosophy of open and transparent government and welcome public input. Our website is a work in progress, so please check back frequently for updates.

Calgon Carbon To Construct Carbon Reactivation Plant in Gila Bend !!!

PHOENIX (March 13, 2012) - The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), and the Town of Gila Bend today announced Calgon Carbon Corporation will construct a new water treatment carbon reactivation plant in Gila Bend, AZ. This will initially bring 25 high-quality jobs to the state, with the potential to increase to 62 new jobs over a three year period, and represents a multi-million dollar investment in the state.

3rd Solar Power Plant for Gila Bend Announced

17-Megawatt AZ Sun Project Will Come Online Later This Year

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the first time, Arizona’s largest electric utility — Arizona Public Service Company — and Arizona’s largest solar manufacturer — First Solar — are working together to harness the power of the sun. APS has contracted with First Solar to design and build the Paloma Solar Plant, a 17-megawatt photovoltaic facility in Gila Bend, Ariz. APS will own the plant, which is expected to come online in September 2011.
