Our website is a work in progress, so please check back frequently for updates. Gila Bend Counts! Beginning the week of March 29, 2010 Gila Bend residents will begin to receive Census forms. Please take a few minutes to fill them out. Count everyone who lives in your home. If you need help, simply contact or visit Town Hall. The 2010 Census will help communities receive more than $400 billion in federal funds each year for things like, hospitals, job training centers, schools, senior centers, bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects, emergency services, etc. Click here or the logo above to access the Census 2010 home page. Shared Revenues from the State of Arizona are also based on population. For every person counted, Gila Bend receives about $267 per person every year to be used in the community. USDA Rural Development Grant. On January 14, 2010, Mr. Alan Stephens, Director of the USDA Rural Development Agency for Arizona made an official presentation to the Town of Gila Bend and Mayor Henry for $2,598,390 of the approximately $3.1 million dollar funding project the Town has been awarded. This funding is for waterline and fire hydrant replacements and related infrastructure improvements. The remaining funds (approximately $500,000) are being granted to the town via CDBG, WIFA, and private funds.
