Welcome! On behalf of the Citizens of the Town of Gila Bend, please accept a very warm welcome to our community and take a moment to explore our website and stop by Town Hall. Our Council meetings, are held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, at Town Hall, beginning at 6:00 pm. We operate on a philosophy of open and transparent government and welcome public input. Our website is a work in progress, so please check back frequently for updates. Mayor Henry Extends Warm Welcome to Prince Harry “On behalf of the Town of Gila Bend, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Prince Harry and his fellow pilots as they conduct training at the Barry Goldwater Air Force Base,” said Mayor Ron Henry. Much to the surprise and delight of the community, Prince Harry recently dined at Little Italy, with about 30 of his fellow pilots. Mayor Henry was quick to note that, “as a testament to the character of the community, Prince Harry was left alone by fellow diners. The fact that Prince Harry was not bothered by anyone says quite a bit about the good people we have here in Gila Bend. We respect his privacy. We admire his commitment to his mission, as well as his ‘down to earth’ demeanor.” Unfortunately, a rogue and fabricated story was recently written by the publication, Daily Mail on November 7th, 2011. Mayor Henry stated, “I am deeply saddened that comments written by the Daily Mail were not only taken out of context but also, total fabrications. In fact, the negative comments were the words of the reporter, who chose to sensationalize and fabricate a story, rather than report the truth. I would never make such outlandish comments. We have tremendous respect and adoration for Prince Harry and the Royal Family. We are excited, proud and honored to have him in our community, and we would like extend every courtesy to make his stay as comfortable as possible.” Taking a page out of the President’s playbook, Mayor Henry light-heartedly stated that he would be happy to treat the Prince to another dinner at Little Italy, and host a “beer summit” to welcome him to the Gila Bend community.First Things First and Care1st Donate $350,000 to Gila Bend for New Center Care1st Resource Center Coming to Gila Bend This Summer Gila Bend, Arizona (April 20, 2011) – Families will soon have an easy, one-stopconnection to community resources at a new Gila Bend Family Resource Center to be created through a partnership between First Things First, Care1st Health Plan Arizona and the Town of Gila Bend.
